Who I Am
Daniel Jimenes, 25, born on July 22nd 1999. Son of 2 immigrant parents of Afro-Latinx descent, it was hard for them to understand when I wanted to pursue a career in arts instead of sports. Going into college, at first, I had my own doubts in both my abilities and my career path but I managed to push through with the help of my professors (and my own perseverance of course). I found my voice, or rather, the beginning of my voice and even though I found it sooner than most; the pressure is all the same. 3dism is that, it is my voice in 3d form spread across a canvas of my choosing, conveying emotions and displaying movement in a similar way to cubism but more literal while also being abstract in some instances. Post-college life was exactly what I thought it would be, chaotic. Jumping from gallery shows to collaborative exhibits, I found myself landing a 2-year grant opportunity hosted by CRNY in 2022 which taught me a lot about myself and how people work in the art business as a whole. Now we are in 2025, I am currently free-lancing, attempting to support myself and my future family with my art.
